our story

We at Homemade passion for food pride ourselves on providing quality food at reasonable prices.

coffee shopWe have been established since November 2000 and we have developed the business from a Bakery and shop to what you see now which is a Bakery Coffee shop and outside catering facility.

The morning goods are made from a traditional recipe that is at least Seventy years old as we have kept to the traditions of the business that has been on this site for all of that period.

The business is run on a daily basis by Angela and her team of staff. All of the staff have received training which include Food hygiene, hospitality, First aid, customer care and advanced driving skills.

Angela has over 30 years catering experience working alongside some of the industries top chefs, before going on to be involved in the Hotel management.
We care about the environment in which we live and work and we have a strong environmental policy to ensure that we always consider the Carbon foot print that our business creates and wherever possible we look to reduce it. That is why all the staff live locally and wherever possible all raw materials are sourced from local businesses. We are in the process of arranging for the introduction of a monitor which provides information on real time energy use which it is hoped will allow us to reduce our energy use and thereby comply with our policy to reduce our Carbon foot print.

The business follows strict work instructions which include the recipes of our daily specials. This is why we can be certain that you will always receive the same taste every time you buy your daily hot special from Homemade passion for food.

These work instructions were part of the reason why in 2002 the business was awarded the runner up prize in the Manchester Chamber of Commerce Best New Business category.

Since that award the business has continued to develop and staff are still in various stages of further training (eee photos on the right). This has recently been recognized by the Northwest Business link who completed a Case study on the business which appeared on the Manchester evening news website and is available on You tube.

We are currently showing this case study on our website.

As you look through this website we will show you what you can get from Homemade passion for food.

You will see that we now specialize in outside catering and business lunches and currently operate in partnership with a number of businesses in and around Salford. We have provided packed lunches for businesses as far as Ormskirk.

We care about our customers and prefer to work with Customer pull rather than manufacturer push. What that means is that we prefer to hear from you what you want us to provide rather than us providing what we think you want. A recent example of this has been seen when we recently agreed to introduce a Gluten free range to our menu. This is a growing area and is a direct response to a request from our customers. If you have any ideas about future types of food you would like to see on our menu them please complete our feedback form and we will look to see if we can provide this for you. We can do this because the majority of our products are made at our Swinton Bakery.

In addition to the changes made at the shop we have now gone on line and you can follow us on Twitter and Facebook. Please feel free to communicate with us.

We hope you will enjoy the changes we have made to our website
